Intensified Search for Missing 80-Year-Old Man in Leksand

An urgent search operation is underway in Leksand, Sweden, for an 80-year-old man who has been missing since Monday afternoon. The man was last seen at Leksand Sommarland around 5 PM and was reported missing by his family that evening. His unfamiliarity with the area and the fact that he does not speak Swedish have raised concerns for his safety.

Authorities have escalated search operations, deploying police and rescue services, including boats, drones, dog patrols, and a helicopter. As efforts continued without success, the military has also been called in to assist. The hunt has expanded with the local police collaborating with Missing People, as search teams scour the area for any signs of the missing man.

Evelina Åström, a spokesperson from the police, has urged residents to check local buildings such as sheds or barns where the man might have sought shelter. He was last reported to be wearing a gray T-shirt and a black hoodie. Authorities are asking anyone with information to contact them immediately to help locate him.
