IK Sirius Secures First Victory After Six Matches, Thanks to Robbie Ure

In a much-needed boost to their season, IK Sirius claimed their first victory in over two months by defeating Halmstad 1-0 in the Allsvenskan on August 9, 2025. Robbie Ure, who had started the match on the bench, emerged as the team's hero, scoring the decisive goal just four minutes after entering the game in the 76th minute. The goal came from a corner kick situation where Ure capitalized on a rebound following a chaotic moment in the box, which saw the ball strike the crossbar before he pounced on it to score.

This win marked Sirius's first since June 19, ending a prolonged 131-day winless streak, and brought their points total to 17. Despite being just one point behind Halmstad in the standings, the latter has now gone five matches without a win, further entrenching them in the league’s bottom half.

Ure expressed satisfaction with his contribution to the game, stating, "It was not pretty, but it doesn't matter how the ball goes in. I'm glad! I should have scored three or four goals, but we have performed well lately, so it feels good to take this with us." His determination to make an impact off the bench was evident as he added, "Sitting on the bench sometimes is part of football. I won’t play every minute of every match.
