IFK Göteborg Downplays European Qualification Goals Amid Solid Season Performance

Despite being in contention for European qualifying spots, IFK Göteborg is intentionally downplaying ambitions for European qualification in the ongoing 2025 season. Currently, they find themselves five points behind rivals Malmö FF in third place, with a match still to be played.

Players and coaches emphasize that the focus should remain on match-by-match performance rather than fixating on future standings. Midfielder Gustav Svensson stated, "We should not start talking about that now; we are trying to win every match and aim as high as possible, but discussing European positions only sets us up for disappointment."
