The top 16 contestants for Idol 2025 have been officially selected after a dramatic audition process, setting the stage for the upcoming Saturday finals beginning October 18. This year's competition introduces a duel format where contestants are split into two groups to compete against each other. After the first two Saturday shows, only twelve contestants will move forward — four winners of initial duels automatically advance, while four losing contestants get a second chance by performing again. The two performers receiving the highest audience votes from the second chance round will also continue in the competition.

Oscar Zia will join host Pär Lernström as co-host for the first Saturday final, with renowned singer Molly Sandén serving as a judge. Additionally, comedian Johanna Nordström will guest host the second Saturday final. The live shows will be broadcast starting at 20:00 on TV4 Play and TV4.

Among the notable contestants competing in the duels are Allan Ismail, Alma Adolfsson, and Rasmus Bergman, aiming to impress both judges and viewers. This engaging new format aims to intensify competition and viewer involvement in the Idol journey.

The introduction of duels and the star-studded hosting lineup mark significant developments for Idol 2025, promising an exciting season for the Swedish music entertainment scene.
