Highlights and Awards Set to Shine at the 2025 Stockholm Film Festival

The 2025 Stockholm International Film Festival, running from November 5 to 16, is showcasing a remarkable lineup of 135 films from approximately 60 countries, underscoring its role as a key cultural event for both Swedish and international cinema. One of the festival's standout films is Tarik Saleh's "Eagles of the Republic," which opens the event and concludes Saleh's Cairo trilogy. Praised as one of this year's best Swedish films, it impresses with its explosive narrative and atmospheric noir style, utilizing Arabic to deepen its storytelling.

The much-anticipated Bronshästen award ceremony, honoring outstanding cinematic achievements, is scheduled for November 14 at Biograf Rigoletto. Known for awarding the world's heaviest film prize weighing 7.3 kilograms, the ceremony will begin at 17:30 following a red carpet event at 16:30. The festival will distribute a total of 14 awards across categories including Best Film, Best Documentary, Best Female and Male Actor, and the Stockholm Short Film Competition. Additional honors such as the Aluminiumhästen and the Peroni 0.0% Audience Award, which features five finalists, will also be presented.

Festival representatives will be available for interviews after the awards, though press attendance is subject to prior registration due to limited spots. Organizers expressed their gratitude to the jury members for their dedicated efforts in selecting winners worthy of recognition.
