Henrik Zetterberg Returns to Timrå IK as Sports Advisor

Henrik Zetterberg, the acclaimed former NHL star, has officially returned to Timrå IK as a sports advisor ahead of the new SHL season. At 44 years old, Zetterberg is eager to contribute his expertise to the club, stating, "I am passionate about Timrå IK and want to contribute in a more structured way; this is an organization with proud traditions and a strong belief in the future." His primary objective will be to attract young talent to the team, ensuring conditions for ambitious players to thrive within the club.

Zetterberg previously participated in recruitment efforts informally but will now formalize his role within the sports organization. Timrå's sports chief, Kent "Nubben" Norberg, emphasized the importance of forming an official sports council, acknowledging the contributions that Zetterberg and scout Emil Berglund made last season. Zetterberg's illustrious career includes leading Timrå to the elite series in 2000 and winning the Stanley Cup with the Detroit Red Wings in 2008, along with Olympic and World Championship gold medals for Sweden. His commitment to revitalizing Timrå IK comes after he retired from professional hockey in 2018, and he aims to uplift the club once again.
