Hanna Öberg Secures Second Place in Ruhpolding Biathlon, Showing Strong Olympic Form

Swedish biathlete Hanna Öberg delivered an impressive performance in the pursuit event at the Ruhpolding Biathlon World Cup, securing second place behind French competitor Lou Jeanmonnot. Öberg, who had entered the race as the sprint winner, faced challenges with three missed shots during the prone shooting but rebounded with strong shooting in the standing segment. Despite her shooting errors, she finished just 10.5 seconds behind Jeanmonnot, who had only one shooting miss and clocked a winning time of 29:26.60.

The podium finish marked Öberg’s third consecutive World Cup podium, underscoring her excellent form ahead of the 2026 Winter Olympics. Her sister, Elvira Öberg, also competed strongly, finishing tenth and was the second-best Swedish athlete in the race despite missing two shots in her last shooting round.

Following the Ruhpolding event, both sisters announced they will skip the upcoming World Cup competitions in Nove Mesto to focus on preparation for the Olympics. Hanna Öberg’s consistent performances at this stage of the season highlight her readiness and potential to contend for medals in the upcoming Olympic Games.
