Haninge Municipality Reports Record Economic Success in 2025 with Strategic Tax Cut

Haninge Municipality has announced its strongest economic performance to date in 2025, achieving a historic surplus of 772.5 million kronor. This figure represents 11.3% of the collective tax revenues and general state grants, marking a significant improvement over the previous year. The municipality attributes this success to increased tax revenues, reduced pension expenditures, and improved resource efficiency. Additionally, Haninge lowered its municipal tax rate by 23 öre, maintaining one of the lowest tax rates in southern Stockholm.

The municipality set nine strategic goals for the current mandate period, focusing on areas such as safety, education, employment, business climate, and urban development. One goal related to financial discipline has been largely accomplished, with others partially met and expected to be fully assessed in 2026. Key achievements in 2025 include enhanced safety through greater cooperation with police resulting in lower crime rates, an improved business climate with Haninge climbing over 100 places in national rankings, progress in education despite ongoing challenges, and advancements in social services and elderly care, including increased options and adoption of digital solutions.
