Djurgården Fotboll has announced the appointment of Hampus Frisén as the club's new CEO, effective December 2025. At just 35 years old, Frisén comes from a role as 'Head of Investments' at the British investment firm Sport Republic, which is known for owning several football clubs including Southampton and Valenciennes.
Frisén expressed his excitement about the new role, stating, "To be entrusted as CEO of Djurgården Fotboll is an honor, and I have great respect for the responsibility it entails." He emphasized the importance of building on the solid foundation already established at the club.
Chairman Erik Gozzi praised Frisén's strategic skills and experience, noting they will be beneficial as the club enters its next phase of development. Frisén will be responsible for overseeing the organization's operations, including finances, brand management, and external relations.
He takes over from Henrik Berggren, who is transitioning to become the Secretary General of Svensk Elitfotboll. Berggren has had a long tenure with Djurgården since 2001, leading the club from adversity to becoming one of the richest in Sweden, culminating in a championship win in 2019.
