Ghost Leads 2026 Grammis Nominations with Six, Viagra Boys and Others Also Recognized

The 2026 Grammis Awards nominations have been announced, with Linköping-based metal band Ghost receiving the most nominations at six, including top categories Album of the Year and Artist of the Year. Their album "Skeletá" is a contender for Album of the Year alongside Anna von Hausswolff's "Iconoclasts" and Lisa Nilsson's "Uteblivna vi". Ghost is up against other prominent nominees for Artist of the Year such as Hov1, Viagra Boys, Yung Lean, and Zara Larsson.

Viagra Boys, who earlier this year won Artist of the Year at the P3 Guld gala, have multiple nominations including in the Rock and Album of the Year categories. New talents like Ida-Lova, Fanny Avonne, Biji, Nektar, and Valter Nilsson are also spotlighted in the Newcomer of the Year category.

The awards cover a broad spectrum of genres from pop, hip hop, rock, jazz, to classical music, reflecting the vibrant diversity in Sweden’s music scene. Composer of the Year went to Elvira Anderfjärd for "Addison," with other notable nominees including Ludwig Göransson and Tobias Forge.

The Grammis gala is scheduled for April 29 at Annexet in Stockholm, celebrating achievements in Swedish music with winners determined by radio play and streaming data. The event also honors specific categories such as Song of the Year and Best Music Video. This year’s nominations underscore the strong contributions and dynamic styles flourishing within Sweden’s musical landscape.
