Generation Pep recently marked its 10-year anniversary, advocating for strong societal measures to ensure all children and youth can lead active and healthy lives. The initiative emphasizes that every child has a right to the best possible health, as established by the Convention on the Rights of the Child. To close avoidable health inequalities, it calls for focused prioritization and investment in children's health. Their report, "Children's Health - Our Future," launched alongside a seminar, highlights the economic significance of such investments, stressing benefits both for individuals and society at large.

Complementing these efforts, Region Kronoberg has developed a comprehensive health platform that provides accessible health data across Kronoberg County to support equitable health initiatives. The platform's health indicators were selected through extensive collaboration with healthcare professionals and users, embodying national public health goals but tailored for local needs. It integrates self-reported survey data and anonymized register data, updated annually, to help public health workers analyze health distribution and trends at the granular DeSO level—demographic statistical areas representing 650 to 3,500 residents.

Importantly, the platform identifies 'red risk areas' with elevated health issues like dental caries, aiming to direct focused interventions without stigmatizing communities. Economic standards are gauged by household disposable income across five categories, providing a nuanced understanding of socio-economic impacts on health. Both Generation Pep's advocacy and Region Kronoberg's data-driven platform underscore a concerted societal responsibility to foster equitable, active, and healthy lifestyles for children and youth in Sweden.
