Gang-Related Shooting in Gävle Leaves One Dead, Another Injured

On the evening of Saturday, October 25, 2025, a shooting in Brynäs, Gävle, resulted in the death of a young man and serious injury to another. The police confirmed that both victims are connected to the criminal gang environment. The incident, which occurred shortly after 8 PM, involved multiple shots being fired. One victim was pronounced dead at the scene, while the other remains in serious but non-life-threatening condition.

Police spokesperson Magnus Jansson Klarin stated that the shooting is being investigated as murder and attempted murder, though no arrests have been made yet. Authorities have launched a significant police operation, securing multiple locations and seeking witnesses, especially owners of Tesla vehicles who might have captured footage of the incident.

This shooting adds to a recent spike in gang violence in the region, with approximately 20 serious violent crimes linked to gang activity reported in the Gävleborg police district over the past three weeks. Notably, many suspects involved are under 15 years old, highlighting the growing concern over youth involvement in gang-related crimes.
