Emergency Response Underway for Forest Fire in Bengtsfors

A forest fire has been reported in a wooded area near Dals Långed, Bengtsfors municipality, Sweden. The emergency response was triggered after a private plane spotted open flames earlier today, August 17, 2025. According to rescue chief Christian Rådén, initial responding units have arrived at the scene but have yet to identify the active fire.

The challenging hilly terrain has hindered efforts, leading authorities to deploy a drone to assist in locating the blaze. Rådén warned that the dry and windy conditions in the area pose a significant risk for the fire to spread. Fortunately, there are no residents in the vicinity to be affected by the fire, relieving some concern as emergency crews work to assess and control the situation.
