In Västernorrland, regional politicians, typically known for their political divisions, have reached an uncommon consensus on the urgent need for expanding railway infrastructure. Specifically, all elected officials agree on constructing an additional parallel track along the stretch from Härnösand to Sundsvall and onwards to Gävle. This agreement is notable given the current atmosphere of turmoil, especially following budget cuts and structural challenges affecting regional services like Sollefteå hospital.
