Centerpartiet Faces Leadership Crisis as Anna-Karin Hatt Resigns, Eyeing a Million-Kronor Severance

Centerpartiet is embroiled in a leadership crisis following the unexpected resignation of Anna-Karin Hatt, who served just over five months as party leader. With less than a year until the next general election, the party now urgently needs a new leader to redefine its election strategy and unify its fragmented base. Political scientist Mikael Sundström expressed surprise at the timing, noting that usually such resignations are preceded by signaling, especially in an election year.
