Swedish grocery giant Axfood has announced impressive financial results for the second quarter of 2025, reporting a profit increase of over 11% compared to the same period last year, surpassing analyst expectations. The company’s revenue was recorded at 22,995 million kronor, showing a growth of just over 9%, though slightly below estimates that projected revenue of 23,044 million kronor.

Key operational efficiencies stemming from significant investments in automation and logistics have notably enhanced Axfood’s competitiveness. The company anticipates annual cost savings of 80 million kronor as a result of these improvements. Maintaining a focus on growth, Axfood has reiterated its investment forecast for the year, projecting a total between 1.6 to 1.7 billion kronor.

In terms of future expansion, Axfood plans to open between 10 to 15 new stores, indicating its commitment to increasing its market presence.
