Avatr 12 and Voyah Taishan X8 Showcase Cutting-Edge Electric Vehicle Technology and Digital Integration

Two new electric vehicles, the Avatr 12 sedan and Voyah Taishan X8 SUV, have been launched showcasing advanced technology and digital integration, emphasizing collaborations with Huawei. The Avatr 12, available in seven versions priced from $42,600 to $62,900, features up to 955 horsepower and a range of 735 km on its fully electric model. An extended range version (EREV) extends the total range to 1,260 km by combining electric driving with an additional generator. Key innovations include a Huawei lidar system with 896 lines mounted on the roof, fixed lidar, cameras, radar, and the Huawei Qiankun ADS driver assistance system supporting advanced autonomous driving, including urban and highway functionalities as well as automated parking. The interior is equipped with HarmonyOS running on a massive 35.4-inch 4K central display alongside a 15.6-inch auxiliary screen, with luxury zero-gravity seats offering massage and ventilation features.

The Voyah Taishan X8, a large five-seat premium SUV over 5.2 meters long expected to launch in 2026, highlights a combination of comfort and sophisticated technology. It offers three distinct interior trims—lilaträ, rödorange, and ceder—and features a multimedia system integrating two 15.6-inch Huawei screens. The central screen controls all vehicle functions, while the passenger display is dedicated to entertainment. HarmonyOS underpins the vehicle’s deep digital service integration. Huawei's advanced driver assistance system (ADS) hardware supports Level 3 autonomy, allowing higher degrees of automatic driving.

Both vehicles underline a trend of Chinese brands leading the high-tech electric vehicle sector through strategic partnerships with technology companies like Huawei. This integration of ultra-fast charging, high performance, spacious and luxurious interiors, and sophisticated autonomous driving features marks a shift toward vehicles as digital spaces beyond traditional transportation. Avatr 12’s rapid charge can raise the battery from 30% to 80% in roughly 10 minutes, reinforcing convenience alongside power and comfort.
