In response to these findings, the city of Stockholm has suspended three managers from Avarn and is preparing to file a police report, illustrating the severity of the situation. Anna Green, the head of the traffic office, expressed grave concern over the inaccuracies and has initiated a thorough investigation aimed at recovering improperly paid funds.
Jennie Sörman, Avarn's HR director, acknowledged the severe impact on the company's credibility, stressing that the actions of the involved managers did not yield financial gain but were misguided attempts to address staffing challenges. Avarn has committed to refunding the incorrect invoices and paying penalties for the unfulfilled service hours.
Both Avarn and the city confirmed that there is no evidence showing that motorists received incorrect invoices and noted that the current circumstances do not warrant the termination of their parking monitoring contract.
