Attempted Murder Case in Luleå: Son Charged After Stabbing Incident

A man in his 30s has been charged with attempted murder following a violent incident involving his mother in Luleå earlier this year. The attack, which occurred in early April, prompted police to respond to reports of violence at the family’s residence. Upon arrival, the son resisted officers’ attempts to enter, leading them to break a balcony window for access. Once inside, police encountered the son, who was described as intoxicated and aggressive; his subsequent arrest was recorded on body cameras.

The mother was found with severe injuries, including a head bleed and multiple fractures, necessitating her transport to an intensive care unit in Umeå for treatment. During an emergency call to police, the son allegedly confessed to stabbing his mother. However, he later claimed not to recall the incident during questioning, expressing disbelief that he could harm her.

A knife carrying the son's DNA was recovered outside the residence, affirming the violent nature of the altercation. Friends and family have described his behavior leading up to the incident as increasingly erratic, with some stating he was 'like a predator.' The mother, who suffers from amnesia regarding the attack, struggles to accept her son's involvement in the violence, despite his documented obsession with knives.
