During the event, which took place in challenging windy conditions, Duplantis faced significant hurdles at the record height of 6.10 meters, failing to clear it on all attempts. "It was a bit tough, but that’s how it is sometimes. It’s always difficult when you have headwinds. I’m glad I could win. That was the most important thing ahead of the World Championships," he stated post-competition, highlighting how these conditions impacted his performance. His main competitor, Greece's Emmanouil Karalis, also struggled at the same height, allowing Duplantis to secure the win based on fewer failed attempts leading up to the final height.

Following this event, Duplantis is set to compete in the World Championships in Fukuoka, Japan, beginning in mid-September, where he aims to further solidify his dominance in the sport.
