Armand Duplantis Named World's Best Male Athlete for Second Consecutive Year

Armand Duplantis has been named the world's best male athlete for the second year running, a distinction awarded by sports journalists worldwide. He secured this honor with 1,182 points in the voting, substantially outpacing Spanish tennis player Carlos Alcaraz, who received 784 points, and French footballer Ousmane Dembelé, who placed third with 713 points.

This accolade follows an extraordinary year for the Swedish-American pole vaulter, who broke the world record four times and clinched a gold medal at the World Championships. Duplantis’s achievements have not only earned him global recognition as the top male athlete but also multiple prestigious awards including the BBC's Sports Star of the Year for the second consecutive year.

Alongside Duplantis’s recognition, Spanish footballer Aitana Bonmatí was voted the best female athlete in the same AIPS poll. Duplantis’s consistent dominance in athletics and his repeated breaking of world records have solidified his position at the pinnacle of global sports this year.
