Armand Duplantis Cleared of Injuries After Diamond League Withdrawal, Set for European Championships

Swedish pole vaulter Armand Duplantis withdrew from the Diamond League competition in London after clearing 5.95 meters due to discomfort and tightness in his thigh. Despite initial concerns, a professional medical examination including an MRI confirmed there are no injuries to his groin or back, according to his agent Daniel Wessfeldt. Duplantis reported feeling stiffness but no serious damage.

Wessfeldt indicated that with a regimen of lighter training and proper treatment over the next ten days, Duplantis is expected to make a full recovery in time for the European Championships scheduled to begin on August 10 in Birmingham. The men's pole vault qualifications will take place on August 14, followed by the final on August 16.

While Duplantis will miss the upcoming Swedish Championships in Uppsala this weekend, his sister Johanna will compete in the pole vault event. The positive medical updates help ensure that Duplantis remains on track to defend his titles and maintain his status as a top contender at the European meet.
