A man in his 60s from Ångermanland has had his conviction for gross pimping upheld by Hovrätten för nedre Norrland following a high-profile sex trafficking case. The man was sentenced to four years and five months for coercing his wife into selling sexual services to over 120 men across more than three years, involving both in-person meetings and online arrangements. The case surfaced after the wife fled their home and reported him to police in October 2025.
According to court officials, including court president Agneta Ögren, the man manipulated and ruthlessly exploited his wife, overseeing her online advertisements and scheduling clients. Beyond gross pimping, he was also convicted of attempted rape, two counts of assault, six counts of illegal threats, and minor drug offenses. The case also implicated 29 suspected sex buyers, with 28 convicted in total despite a two-year statute of limitations limiting convictions to approximately 30 men so far.
The wife described their relationship as initially a "whirlwind romance" that became abusive, with demands for loyalty and financial control. She criticized the verdict as "a mockery," highlighting ongoing trauma, while the man has denied all allegations, claiming he was only supporting his wife's voluntary actions.
This ruling confirms the district court's decision and underscores the severity of the offenses, reflecting Sweden's stance against sex trafficking and exploitation.

Source comparison
Number of occasions of sexual services provided
Sources report different numbers of occasions on which sexual services were provided.
svd.se
"...providing sexual services to over 120 men over a period of approximately three years."
svd.se
"...120 individuals suspected of purchasing sexual services from the woman, both in person and online, across over 300 occasions."
Why this matters: One source states that sexual services were provided over 300 occasions, while the other does not specify a number but implies a significant duration. This discrepancy affects the understanding of the extent of the trafficking operation.
