Andreas Lundmark Retires Following Controversial Dismissal

Andreas Lundmark, known for his coaching success in Swedish sports, has announced his retirement after being dismissed from his position with Rönnby just before their semifinal series. The termination was linked to a serious incident that occurred in the team shower, described by Rasmus Bergström, the physiotherapist and assistant coach, as involving 'serious transgressions' related to Lundmark entering the shower area where two players were present.

Lundmark explained that he entered the shower, unaware that the players were present, claiming it was an 'accident that has taken disproportionate events.' This incident has notably changed the trajectory of his career. In a decisive statement, he declared that he will not coach women's teams again, emphasizing, 'I will not coach women again and expose myself to this more.'

In a farewell message shared on Facebook, Lundmark reflected on his lengthy career, which includes triumphs like winning a World Championship gold with the women's national team. He expressed pride in the development and the many journeys shared with his players, stating, 'I say goodbye to floorball now. It has meant a lot to me.'
