Andreas Almgren Claims Narrow Victory at 2025 Finnkampen 10 km Race

In a thrilling finish at the 2025 Finnkampen event held in Stockholm, Andreas Almgren and his compatriot Suldan Hassan delivered a double victory for Sweden in the men's 10 km road race. Racing under heavy rain, Almgren was declared the winner after an exceptionally close finish, where he crossed the line just a hundredth of a second ahead of Hassan, with an official time of 29:11.16.

Despite the challenging weather conditions, Almgren's performance was particularly noteworthy. Earlier this year, he set a European record for the distance with a remarkable time of 26:53 in Valencia. At this event, he expressed that the race felt more like a rigorous training session than a peak competitive effort, suggesting he did not find it to be one of his toughest challenges.

Mustafe Muuse from Finland secured third place, finishing 15 seconds behind the leading duo, followed by Sweden's David Nilsson in fourth with a time of 30:12.84. This win marks a strong start for the Swedish team at Finnkampen, underscoring the resilience and competitive spirit of its athletes.
