Alex Norén Appointed Vice-Captain for European Ryder Cup Team

Alex Norén, the renowned Swedish golfer, has been officially appointed as a vice-captain for the European Ryder Cup team. The announcement was made by team captain Luke Donald, who praised Norén’s humility and team-centric mindset as significant reasons for his selection.

Norén's recent victory at the British Masters, where he showcased impressive form, helped position him as a promising candidate for a leadership role within the team. Despite not being selected as a player for this prestigious competition, Norén expressed his surprise at being offered the vice-captain position, saying, "It was a big shock when I found out. I didn’t expect it at all."

The Ryder Cup is set to take place from September 26-28 at Bethpage Black in New York. This year, Ludvig Åberg will be the only Swedish representative on the European team. Norén has acknowledged the challenges ahead, particularly competing in front of what he anticipates to be a tough crowd at the event.
