Albin Lundin Hospitalized After Stick Incident in Björklöven vs Oskarshamn Match

During a hockey match between Björklöven and Oskarshamn held in Umeå, Björklöven’s Albin Lundin was taken to the hospital after being struck in the face by a stick. The incident occurred just under eleven minutes into the game when Oskarshamn player Kevin Karlsson raised his stick towards Lundin’s neck area during a confrontation, causing Lundin to sit down in pain. Karlsson was immediately given a match penalty for his actions. Björklöven's sports manager, Per Kenttä, confirmed Lundin’s hospitalization during a TV4 broadcast. At the time of the incident, Björklöven was leading 3-0. TV4 ice hockey expert Johan Tornberg described the stick movement as directed towards the neck or head, justifying the penalty, but suggested it was more of a reflex action than intentional. Lundin was assisted off the ice by medical personnel and taken to the hospital for further evaluation.
