A-Teens Reunite for Melodifestivalen 2026, Secure Spot in the Final

Swedish pop group A-Teens reunited after nearly two decades to compete in Melodifestivalen 2026, performing their new upbeat single "Iconic." The quartet, composed of Marie Serneholt, Sara Lumholdt, Dhani Lennevald, and Amit Paul, have rekindled their partnership following their guest appearance in Melodifestivalen 2024 which reignited their musical ambitions.

"Iconic," created by a team including Moa "Cazzi Opeia" Carlebecker, is a joyful tune meant to bridge the group's past hits with their present sound. Their reunion has been met with excitement, as they expressed pride in their new work and eagerness to reconnect globally with fans through live performances planned for 2025. They have already toured South America and performed at Stockholm Pride since reassembling.

In this year's Melodifestivalen final, A-Teens secured their place directly following their performance — a significant milestone as it's their first competition entry as a group since their disbandment in 2006. Their journey in Melodifestivalen has been supported by strong public interest and reflects the enduring popularity of their music.

The event also featured other acts like Kristofer Greczula, who faced a technical mishap preventing the completion of his aerial stunt during the opening act. The show was hosted by Gina Dirawi, marking her fourth time as host, alongside debutant Hampus Nessvold. Additionally, classic Melodifestivalen hits continue to be honored, with a recent induction into the Hall of Fame highlighting the contest's rich history.
