24-Year-Old Sentenced to Life for Double Murder Linked to Criminal Networks in Järfälla

A 24-year-old man has been sentenced to life imprisonment for the brutal double murder of two young men in Kallhäll, Järfälla, north of Stockholm. The victims, aged 22 and 23, were shot multiple times in the head inside a car on the night of August 25 last year. The Attunda District Court described the murders as executions, noting the aggravating circumstances and the victims’ inability to defend themselves, leading to the life sentence ruling by Judge Fredrik Öberg.

The killings are tied to ongoing conflicts between criminal networks operating in the Stockholm area. The prosecution's case, though based on circumstantial evidence, was deemed sufficiently strong to convict the man, who was arrested by chance a few days after the incident. He has consistently denied direct involvement, claiming he was only delivering a weapon, and suggested another individual carried out the shooting.

Adding to the severity, the 24-year-old had previously been sentenced to twelve years in prison for attempted murder after a separate shooting in Huddinge just three days following the double murder. Alongside the life sentence, the court imposed a compensation order exceeding one million kronor to the victims’ relatives.

The father of one of the victims expressed his shock, revealing that his son was drawn into criminal activities after being pressured into admitting to crimes he barely understood. The court emphasized the premeditated nature of the killings and the cruelty involved as critical factors in sentencing, reflecting the harsh consequences of criminal network violence in Stockholm.
